Chinese Cultural Day.

On Thursday 16/6/16 we did chinese cultural day activities. Each of the middle school classes did three activities each. They all missed out on one activity. Now I want to tell you about those activities.

The first activity was in our own class and it was kung fu (or in chinese: gong fu) which was really hard for me. We also had to do the kung fu with some interesting chinese music. After that we listened to our second tutor play the guitar and sing a chinese song. Moments later we did a fun song/dance/game with music. The song/dance/game went like this: we go forward then we go backwards.

After that we went to room 15 where we learnt a special type of kung fu called tai chi. (My mum does tai chi!) After that we made red envelopes with our names written in golden letters. The chinese put 8, 80, 800, 8000 and so on with the eights dollars in the red envelopes.

We then went to ruma weta (A.k.a rm 16) where we made red chinese lanterns and we got to put different coloured pieces of folded a4 paper in our red chinese lanterns. Then we did the fan dance. We had to hold a fan and then dance with it and at the end we flipped it open.

Eventually the bell rang and we said prayers and then we went outside and played. The next time we came in was after we had eaten our morning tea and this time we were in room 17. This was the last class we went to and there was only one teacher there. The activity was drawing with ink; and what we were drawing were special chinese letters. We also drew some pictures with ink. Then we went back to class.

I liked all of the activity's in a different way but my favourite one was room 14's one.

I have some photos scattered around this story; sadly
I was not able to take any photos of the lantern, any way bye! THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!                                    16 Jun 2016 14:08:32.jpg16 Jun 2016 14:09:03.jpg
